********Surf Burden
==================
### An epic surf map 3 years in the making, unreleased for an additional 3 years. You deserve to play it. This is my gift to Counter-Strike 1.6 surfing.

Map Overview:
------------------
- Mayan themed continuous level surf map, with lots of free-style opportunities.
- 10 intricate surf stages. 3 of those stages are _really_ big and open.
- 5 small KZ/B-HOP stages to keep things interesting and fresh.
- CT spawn is start of the level, T spawn takes you to the heart of the map.

This is it, the official beta release of my epic level map. I have been holding on to it for too long, but at this time, I cannot wait any longer. The original computer that the map was developed on broke, and realistically, I will not go back to add the finishing touches. It's been over two years since I last surfed, if I don't release it now, I never will. All the stages have been extensively tested. The only thing missing is credit textures, and teleports back to earlier stages.

From the start, I wanted to make a huge level map that spans the entire grid in Hammer. Mentally, I had ideas and themes that I tried to carry out throughout the making of this map.

Design Challenges:
------------------
- Levels must challenge the surfer's mind. Find the best lines to beat the level, and don't expect them to always be straight forward.

- Rely more on smooth surfing, and twitch reflexes. Not on how high your FPS is.

- Allow surfer's to be creative and have a lot of room for tricks on every stage.

- Create observation areas where you can watch other people surf.

- An open map with lots of details should maintain FPS above 131 everywhere, regardless of computer specs.

I believe my map achieves all of these design goals, but I'll let the end result speaks for itself. Download it, play it, and reminisce what counter strike surfing used to be.

Special Thanks:
------------------
**Phox:** The idea that levels should be based on reflex, not FPS whoring. Batch compiling, and giving me parameters for quick compiles, and final compiles. Also compiling the textures with the .bsp file.

**Emi:** Helping me increase the vertex limits, and teaching me techniques to reduce the vertex counts. Without your help, the map would not have been as big as it is. I would have had to stop it right before the bunny hop level. Thank you so much, with out your help the map would have never reached the scale that it is now.

**Cyclone:** Giving me ideas for how to make the levels more freestyle oriented, especially ledges being more ledgable.

**Other beta testers:** Silverhaze, Bad Coupon, Mappy, Ice Tiger, and anyone else that I forgot to mention.

Have fun playing this map. I made it for your enjoyment. Set your FPS to 131, turn developer 1 on, sit back and let your surfing take over.

Installation Notes:
